I've always had a soft spot for this song. I wrote it probably in 2009-ish and recorded all the tracks that make this up in a walk in wardrobe in Kells where I lived at the time. This is true.
There's no "Winterlake' of course, although I imagine there's more than one close relative out there in the Northern hemisphere,, it's really just an amalgam of my imagination and someplace I''d certainly like to visit (if it was real of course!).
This is yet another remix/remaster of a track that wasn't done very well originally. I think I'm finally doing it some justice here. I play all the instruments etc and I can still remember writing this and getting my mind into a physical, cold, quiet landscape.
I was recording the "legendary" (lol) 'A View Askewed' covers album at the same time. I have a distinct recollection of going either from this, or to this, before/after recording Carly Simon's 'The Right Thing To Do'.
